The village is located in North-East Bulgaria, which is part of Provadia Municipality, Varna District. The village is situated south of the town of Provadia.In the past this village was a rich settlement with interesting history. Here there are many Thracian burial mounds, ruins of Thracian and Roman settlements. During the 16th century the village has been the center of a big Dubrovnik colony. The unique stone church "St. Theodore" from the XVI-XVII centuries is located in the village. Many bones evidence for a massacre of the population during the invasion of the Turks were found in the church. This beautiful village is famously known as the chestnuts village. The picturesque location of the village and its rich cultural and historical past make it an attractive place for recreation and tourism.
