It sits in the northeast corner of Bulgaria between the city of Dobrich and the Romanian border. Along the sea cost there is Durankulak which is host to more than 250 rare species of fish, reptiles, amphibians, marsh birds and plants. Or visit Shabla which is home to more than 10,000 geese as well as a fish rich lake. Further along the coast at Rusalka (Bay of Birds), Kaliakra, Kavarna and Balchik you will find many attractions of historical interest, natural beauty and of course wonderful beaches

It is a pleasant drive inland through fields of wheat and sunflowers and woodland edged with wild lilac, to Dobrich. The region’s largest town is well worth a visit, for its lively atmosphere, art deco cafes, street markets and old artisans’ quarter. Once Bulgaria’s most Muslim town, you get a glimpse of its character in the streets of old Dobrich. Here you will find workshops of contemporary craftsmen; and a traditional inn with courtyard restaurant and street cafe.
