The village is located 25 km from Novi Pazar town and the motorway Sofia-Varna, 35 km from the ancient capital of Bulgaria, Pliska, 77 km from Varna City and International Airport.
The village is situated in the region of Shumen and it is 40km away from the town of Shumen.
Shumen town was founded in the early middle Ages as a fortress and a settlement next to it in the Hissarlak area. By the end of second Bulgarian Kingdom it was given the name of Shumen. There are interesting monuments of architecture, such as The Tower of the Old Clock (1740) Tamboul Mosque and Kourshoum Cheshma (1744).
